Bridesmaids

It’s not very often that a movie comes along that combines strong female power with well choreographed hilarity. While seeing a female version of The Hangover may not be for everyone it certainly is getting a lot of excited buzz. I haven’t been this excited to see a movie in a long time. Too often any comedies with great female characters are peripheral to their primary goal – finding a man to complete them.

While I think relationships are an important part of life, there’s so much more to a person than their mate. Bridesmaids seems like its more about the journey than the destination despite it being centered around a wedding. I’m hoping that the popularity of this movie will encourage more movies of the same.

Already my friends are organizing ladies’ nights with their girlfriends to go see the movie and I plan on doing the same. šŸ™‚ I can’t wait!!

  1. I tend to avoid romantic comedies because the women in them tend to be such ridiculous caricatures. Movies with strong female characters rock!
