Speaking of Which…

Okay, here’s the scoop …

According to Book Page (www.bookpage.com) in their April 2010 issue, Libba Bray recently signed a contract with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers to pen a new YA series for $2 million (no, that’s not a typo) – $2 million!!! Wowee. The series is a four novel arc set in the 1920s called The Diviners. The first in the series is slated for fall 2012 publication.

Here’s the teaser from Book Page:

“[A] wild new ride full of dames and dapper dons, jazz babies and Prohibition – defying parties, conspiracy and prophecy – and all manner of things that go bump in the neon-drenched night.”

Nice work, Libba! Now can you please send me the name of your agent??

  1. $2M? WOW — i’m speechless. This got to be a good one to look forward to. But how could she get paid that much? Or maybe that’s how much they’re worth now a days?

I think it’s rare to get paid that much especially a YA author. Guess the publishers think it’ll pay off. Crazy though.
